2025 Next Gen: Cal Fahey
Cal Fahey is one of the 2025 Next Gens, as nominated by Groups Today readers for making a difference in the industry with his fresh, progressive perspective.
A Nashville native, Cal Fahey grew up inspired by Ryman Auditorium concerts and Nashville's rich musical heritage.
"Growing up in Nashville, I have seen firsthand the excitement and energy that music brings to people, especially in iconic places like the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium," Fahey said.
After earning degrees in music theory and arts management, he started his career at Opry Entertainment's call center. His dedication and eagerness to learn led to being a Call Center Trainer, Group Services Specialist and now Tourism Sales Manager.
"Group travel allows me to share that experience on a larger scale, connecting visitors with Nashville's music culture in an authentic way," he shared. "I love creating memorable experiences for people, and I am lucky that my job allows me this opportunity."
Fahey is most intrigued by the power of shared experiences and how group travel is an amazing way for people to explore new places and cultures in an easily accessible and fun way. His favorite career accomplishment so far was having the chance to speak on the Ryman Auditorium stage
"When Nashville hosted the American Bus Association's annual Marketplace conference in early 2024, our company was a sponsor and hosted an Opry at the Ryman event," he recalled. "Having seen countless shows in the pews of that auditorium before, it was a surreal experience to be able to stand on that stage promoting our venues and what makes Nashville so special to me."
Fahey has traveled the country representing the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium, encouraging groups to experience that same inspiration only found in Music City. And as he looks to the future, he aims to deepen his knowledge of the tourism industry and build stronger connections with all of Opry Entertainment's partners and clients.
"For the time being, I plan to continue my sales journey with Opry Entertainment and am excited to see what the future holds."
