2025 Next Gen: Britny Avery, CTP
Britny Avery, CTP is one of the 2025 Next Gens, as nominated by Groups Today readers for making a difference in the industry with her fresh, progressive perspective.
With a bachelor of science in hospitality and tourism management from Grand Valley State University, Britny Avery knew she wanted to work in the tourism industry.
"I grew up in a small beach town in Michigan that thrives on summer tourism and working in the industry as a teen, I knew I wanted to continue on that path," Avery said.
She was particularly drawn to group travel because it offers the chance to create memorable experiences.

"It's still business, but at the end of the day, I'm selling fun—and that's what makes it so rewarding."
As a Specialty Sales Manager for Experience Grand Rapids, Avery curates experiences for the group travel market and is a Certified Tour Professional through the National Tour Association. The connections made with people from all over the world is what intrigues her most about the industry.
"Travel has a unique way of bringing people together, creating shared experiences, and offering the chance to learn about different cultures and places," Avery shared. "It's wonderful to be part of an industry that fosters these connections and continually offers new opportunities for growth and learning."
Avery was also recently elected Vice President of the Circle Michigan Board of Directors.
"Being elected to the Circle Michigan Board of Directors and chosen to serve as Vice President is an incredible honor," she said. "I feel proud to have earned the trust of my peers in this role and am excited for what we'll accomplish together in the coming year."
Avery is passionate about enhancing the travel industry through partnerships and memorable experiences. And currently, she's incredibly happy right where she is.
"I haven't looked much further than the next couple of years, so my current goal is to continue learning and growing in the group tour industry while showcasing everything Grand Rapids has to offer."
