It’s Not Personal. It’s Business: New Year's Resolutions

With the dawn of 2017, you might have a few personal New Year's resolutions. But what about your business and career? If you have new annual goals for your career and business, let these resolutions to help you along the way.

1. Stay healthy.

This one might just be personal and business. Healthcare is the No. 1 cost for organizations today. Research shows, however, that 80 percent of healthcare costs are spent on diseases that are almost entirely preventable with better nutrition and physical activity. Corporate wellness could help save your business money by reducing healthcare costs, and could also help by improving productivity and morale.

2. Build stronger relationships with your suppliers.

Destinations, attractions and events play a large role in the success of a tour. Finding the right supplier is the first step toward a great tour, but what happens after you find a great supplier? From extra insight and help to behind-the-scenes opportunities, build strong relationships with your suppliers for great experiences.

3. Utilize your marketing resources.

If you want to attract new customers, you have to make promoting your business a priority. Chances are, there are plenty of ways to capitalize on the marketing resources already available to you. Whether you're expanding your social media presence or connecting with customers on a more personal level via e-mail, there are plenty of opportunities to market your business at your fingertips.

4. Appreciate your customers.

Satisfied customers are a great way to promote tours. Not only are they likely to book trips with you again in the future, but they're also bound to tell their friends, families and co-workers about their great experience with you. Still, a great tour might not be enough. Go the extra mile and leave a lasting impression on your customers.

5. Embrace change.

Few things are certain at the start of a new year, but one truth always prevails: There's destined to be change. Whether you're pursuing new travel trends, turning around turnover or investing in a new generation of business leaders, work with change—not against it.
