Lisa Simon named IITA Executive Director

The International Inbound Travel Association recently announced that it extended Lisa Simon's contract, naming her Executive Director. Chairman Gary Schluter stated that the IITA Board of Directors and Associations International, the association's management firm, have been beyond impressed with Simon's leadership, forward thinking, and dedication to the organization over the past six months.

"Lisa is a natural fit for our association," said Schluter. "She brings a wealth of knowledge about the tourism industry and association management. Extending her contract as Executive Director will allow IITA to continue our forward momentum in defining the worldwide standard of the U.S. inbound travel industry." Simon, president of NTA for many years, has 30 years of combined experience in travel and association management.

The first step IITA took since announcing its name change in February was to launch a new website. The streamlined IITA site creates easy navigation and highlights the association's authority. "We want to give our members and those looking to IITA as the leader in the inbound travel a quick way to stay up to date on what's going on in the industry," said Schluter. "Our website is just one way to do that. The new site is clean, modern and user-friendly. It reflects how we are evolving as an association and an industry."

The launch of the new website is the first of many efforts IITA is taking to improve its member experience and utilize the association's expertise. Schluter notes that IITA is the only association specifically advocating for the international inbound industry.

The International Inbound Travel Association is a national nonprofit trade association representing the U.S. inbound travel industry, promoting professional excellence, and creating a collaborative atmosphere for all companies and entities involved in the U.S. inbound travel industry.
