2026 Next Gen: Maddie McGuire
Maddie McGuire is one of the 2026 Next Gens, as nominated by Groups Today readers for making a difference in the industry with their fresh, progressive perspective.
Maddie McGuire spent six years as a music educator, earning the “Inspire Award” before joining Travel With Barb as a Sales Associate. Now in her second year with TWB, she is dedicated to creating educational, meaningful, and engaging travel experiences for students.
“I have always had a passion for students and education, and I know firsthand how impactful travel can be from my own high school trips,” McGuire shared. “Those experiences broadened my perspective and created lasting memories, and I wanted to be part of helping other students have those same opportunities. The group travel industry allows me to stay connected to education while helping make those life-changing moments possible.”
McGuire especially enjoys accompanying groups to witness their excitement firsthand. As an active SYTA member and conference attendee, she values continuous learning and being part of a student-centered industry.
“I’m inspired by how the industry continues to evolve to provide meaningful and educational experiences while also finding creative ways to make travel more sustainable and accessible for all students,” McGuire said. “I love seeing the collaboration and innovation happening across the industry to ensure student travel remains both impactful and responsible.”
Her favorite accomplishment in her career thus far has been working alongside her team to help educators design their first student trip and then seeing those trips come to life.
“Collaborating with such a talented group of people and witnessing the excitement and joy of students as they experience their trips for the first time is incredibly rewarding,” said McGuire. She looks to the future with a goal of continuing to grow in the industry by learning from others, strengthening relationships with directors, and completing her CSTP certification this year.
“My long-term goal is to keep helping schools make travel a lasting and meaningful part of their programs while continuing to create experiences that inspire students to explore the world.”
