2026 Next Gen: Joslyn Schott
Joslyn Schott is one of the 2026 Next Gens, as nominated by Groups Today readers for making a difference in the industry with their fresh, progressive perspective.
In just under two years at Explore Branson, Joslyn Schott has distinguished herself as an emerging leader in the tourism industry. A Missouri State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Leadership, she brings creativity, strategy, and passion to her role as Assistant Director of Leisure Group Sales.
“My interest in tourism began during my time at Missouri State University. I came into college undecided on what avenue I wanted to study and what I wanted my future career to look like,” Schott recalled. “I knew my strengths revolved around helping people and providing the best service possible. When I discovered the opportunities the Hospitality Department provided, I knew that was where I was meant to be.”
Schott was drawn to the way the travel industry connects people, places, and cultures while fueling economic growth.

“Group travel, particularly, creates shared experiences and lifelong memories,” she said. “Best of all, the dynamic nature of our industry and the endless opportunities for learning and development continuously energize and challenge me as a young professional.”
From developing innovative resources to spearheading impactful industry events to expand Branson’s visibility in new markets, Schott’s work reflects her commitment to elevating the destination experience.
“Tourism is ever-changing, which is the most exciting aspect of the industry for me,” Schott shared. “Every day presents new challenges and opportunities that push me to be adaptive, innovative, and promote personal growth. In the almost two years I have been with Explore Branson, no day has been the same, which keeps me on my toes and excited for what the day might bring.”

Schott’s favorite accomplishment to date in her career has been the creation of Branson’s first Student Resource Guide.
“What began as an idea thrown out in a brainstorming session has evolved into a comprehensive tool for students, teachers, and tour operators to create meaningful educational experiences, and helps tell Branson’s story as the fastest-growing student destination in America,” Schott explained. “Seeing this guide come to life, along with the impact it has already made for our destination, has been incredibly fulfilling.”
Schott’s goals for the future revolve around pushing her own boundaries creatively and growing as a leader.
“I am very grateful to work in an environment that encourages creativity and fully embodies the phrases ‘the sky is the limit’ and ‘if you can dream it, you can do it,’” Schott said. “I am fortunate to work in a destination that I grew up visiting and have fond memories of. I hope to help curate those same memories for the next generation of travelers to Branson.”
