Sanibel Island Adopts New Ordinances

Sanibel Island Ordinances: Motorcoaches, Take Note!

Sanibel Island, Florida, has adopted new ordinances regarding motorcoach bus parking and discharging of passengers, to help ensure the safety of all visitors and to help alleviate traffic problems.

The new ordinances' key points that will have an effect on motorcoach groups visiting the island include:

  • Parking, stopping, or standing on a road or within road right-of-way for passengers to enter or exit the vehicle is prohibited. You must use designated parking areas.
  • In order for a motorcoach to park on public streets, or in a public parking lot such as a beach access lot, application must be made sixty days in advance to the City of Sanibel Clerk for a special events parking permit.
