Ark Encounter Ready to Welcome Flood of Visitors

More than just animals are invited to climb aboard Noah's Ark this time. Ark Encounter, a modern interpretation of Noah's Ark and a sister attraction to the Creation Museum, opened on July 7, 2016.

Ark Encounter is the newest attraction at Answer in Genesis' creationist theme park in Williamston, Kentucky. Just a 45-minute drive from the Creation Museum, the ark is an $86 million dollar project and stands 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet wide with three different decks.

Visitors travel back in time on a mile-long scenic bus ride through a beautiful valley and across a bridge before ascending the road in view of the massive replica of Noah's Ark. Onboard, the ark features 125,000 square feet of various interactive exhibits designed to answer questions about biblical accounts of the flood, Noah and the animals.

The Ark Encounter also features a number of daily live performances and special events. Additionally, visitors can go on a wild adventure while soaring across valleys on a zipline tour, spot exotic animals at the Ararat Ridge Zoo, and relax with family and friends at Emzara's Kitchen, a casual, two-story restaurant.

Answer in Genesis expects to host one to two million visitors during Ark Encounter's first year open. The state-of-the-ark attraction will be open for 40 days and 40 nights for its initial opening, to accommodate an influx of visitors.
