New Rock Hall Exhibit Showcases Largest-Ever Collection of Paul McCartney Artifacts

On May 15, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is set to open the doors to their exciting new exhibit Paul McCartney and Wings, the first major museum exhibition to explore the story of Paul McCartney and Wings—a defining force in 1970s rock that bridged the gap between the end of The Beatles and the rise of a new era in popular music.

Comprised of the most extensive collection of items from McCartney’s personal archives to be made accessible to the public, as well as donations from band members and associates, Paul McCartney and Wings will trace the arc of Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles reinvention—from his self-titled 1970 debut album through the formation of Wings to the band’s dissolution in 1981.

The exhibition will feature numerous never-before-displayed artifacts, including instruments played in Wings’ recording sessions and in concert performances, clothing worn by the band, handwritten lyrics, original artwork, tour memorabilia, and previously unseen photography—presented within an immersive experience incorporating archival video, audio and images. Paul McCartney and Wings is made possible, in part, by support from Raymond James.

To celebrate the exhibit and enhance their experience, groups can view Man on the Run—available to stream on Prime Video—ahead of time. The new documentary from Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning director Morgan Neville chronicles Wings’ 1970s ascension and takes viewers on an intimate journey through Paul McCartney’s extraordinary decade following the breakup of The Beatles and the formation of Wings with his wife, Linda. The documentary, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, gives fans unprecedented access to previously unseen footage and rare archival materials, capturing Paul’s transformative post-Beatles era through a uniquely vulnerable lens.
