Let’s Go Fly a Kite ... Inside and on Ice

When is the perfect time to fly a kite? During winter, according to Delevan, Wisconsin.

For the fourth year, Delevan is welcoming some of the greatest kite performers in the world for Sky Circus on Ice.

Returning to Lake Lawn Resort from Friday, February 17, through Sunday, February 19, Sky Circus on Ice features synchronized performances over frozen Delevan Lake by professional kite-flying teams from across the U.S. and Canada, ice carvings and snow sculptures by international artists, kite-making workshops and more.

Opening ceremonies begin at 11:30 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, featuring kites over 150 feet long on display. Throughout the day, professionals will provide hands-on training for attendees to master the art of flying, and Andes Candies will sponsor aerial candy drops.

This year's theme is superheroes—and attendees will have the opportunity to get an up-close and personal look at artists as they transform solid blocks of ice and snow into intricate carvings. Interested in sculpting your own creation? Snow-carving classes are available on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

And there's something new this year: Tribute to Flight, held in Lake Lawn Resort's historic Great Room, will display performers from around the world showcasing their talents while flying indoors. Special guest Connor Doran, a Top 12 finalist on NBC's fifth season of American's Got Talent, is scheduled to perform his signature indoor kite-flying routine to music.
