Celebrating 40 Years of Skydeck Chicago
Skydeck Chicago is celebrating forty years of making unforgettable memories! Since opening in May 1974, Skydeck Chicago has attracted more than fifty-four million guests from every part of the world.
And thanks to a recent $8 million renovation, the Skydeck Chicago experience has never been better. Museum-quality exhibits and interactive technology highlight the iconic tower and celebrate Chicago’s rich history and culture through captivating visuals. An engaging theater presentation, Reaching for the Sky, tells the story of how Willis Tower and Chicago’s well-known landmarks set the architectural standards after the Great Chicago Fire. Multimedia elevator rides reference points of interest that match the ascending height as guests make their way up to Willis Tower’s 103rd floor.
From the Skydeck, visitors are treated to stunning 360-degree views spanning up to fifty miles and four states. The most spectacular view, however, may be courtesy of The Ledge, with glass floor balconies extending over four feet outside Willis Tower—103 floors or 1,353 feet above Chicago’s Wacker Drive and the Chicago River!
