Amp Up for Soundwaves in Music City

The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is making a splash in late 2018 with Soundwaves, a new indoor and outdoor water park that will span 217,000 square feet.

Soundwaves, exclusive to hotel guests, will not only add to Nashville's largest hotel, but will also add to a trip itinerary. As groups continue to explore the city's music and culinary scene, they could also enjoy Soundwaves' luxury water experience.

Plans for the lower level of the indoor section include a rapid river, lazy river, winding slides and an activity lagoon with rock climbing, pool basketball and waterfalls. Additional indoor plans include a sun deck, restaurant and an adult-only level, complete with a pool.

Outdoors, guests could enjoy a wave pool surrounded by cabanas and a movie screen, as well as additional thrill rides and another private adult-only pool.

And to live up to Nashville's claim to fame as Music City, outdoor music programming will be planned each summer.

Ryman Hospitality Properties has planned to pool $90 million toward the project and believes the facility will make the resort a great location for conventions for families and leisure group tours, such as the upcoming World Irish Dance Championships coming to Ryman's Washington hotel in 2018.
