Motorcoach Parking Update: Washington, D.C.

In late March, the Washington, D.C., Department of Transportation released updated guidelines for motorcoach parking.

Guidelines include:

  • There are specific parking locations for buses throughout the district and tour bus operators can use designated curbside tour bus loading and unloading zones or park at privately owned parking facilities.
  • There have been changes to the tour bus parking spaces around the Fords Theater, effective April 1, 2015. Tour buses can load and unload only on E Street between 9th and 10th streets NW and along 11th Street between F Street and G Street NW. Follow all posted signs for available tour bus loading and unloading spaces. For longer-term parking, please use one of the locations listed here
  • Please abide by all traffic and parking regulations. Carriers will be ticketed for the following:
double parking; stopping and loading at Metro bus stop; parking at a meter; stopping, loading or parking on streets with rush hour prohibitions; parking in any area posted "No Parking" or "No Standing"; parking in a bus zone longer than posted time limit; or parking in a residential neighborhood and idling for more than three minutes.

Please contact the motorcoach hotline at 855-67-BUSES (28737) to work with a travel expert when planning motorcoach trips to the nation's capital.
