Six Spooky Marketing Tips

During the spookiest time of year, it a great time for a fun reminder of some important marketing tips. So before you ready yourself to pass out candy or dress up with the goal of terrifying the whole neighborhood, remember these six positively spooky marketing strategies to keep your goals on their frightening footing!

1. BEWITCH YOUR AUDIENCE WITH VARIED CONTENT
It's likely that your followers vary depending on the platform you're reaching out to them on. Remember to keep things fresh and exciting by switching up content across your platforms, whether it's email, your website or social platforms like TikTok, Facebok or Instagram.

2. MASTER NEW TRICKS TO KEEP YOUR STRATEGY FROM BECOMING A ZOMBIE!
Due to the speed of technology, marketing practices change every day. Some would even say marketing changes faster than a werewolf under a full moon. So make it a priority to remain in the know, implement new tactics and fine-tune new skills. Don't simply try it once to determine whether it works or not ... try it on and test it (much like choosing your Halloween costume each year). If it works, make it a habit until you inevitably need to pivot and adapt—and do it all over again.

3. TRACK YOUR ADS—SO THEY DON'T COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU!
Whether it's through online sales, leads from web forms, sales from phone calls, website visits or page views, it's important to measure the success of your ads. Doing this will help you narrow down what grabs the attention of your intended audience.

4. BURY THAT DIRTY DATA—BEFORE IT CURSES YOUR EMAIL LIST!
It's important to keep lists clean and up to date, whether they are in-house generated, purchased or organic. One option is checking to ensure contacts are within your target audiences. You're wasting your time if the email is leading to someone who is not interested in your product. This dirty data can damage your email sender reputation and put you at risk with email service providers, who could blacklist your company.

5. REACH THE WHOLE COVEN: CONSIDER ACCESSIBILITY
Don't leave anyone in the dark! You want to be sure that your communications are not only being seen by existing and potential clients, but are reaching the entirety of your audience. One way to accomplish this is through putting an emphasis on accessibility. Not only is it a good marketing strategy—it's also the right thing to do! Ensure there are spell-binding captions on videos, that your website is WCAG compliant, be mindful of using people-first language, promote your accessible services, etc.

6. YOUR CHANNELS ... THEY'RE ALIVE!
Whichever channels you choose to use to market and communicate with your clients, be sure to keep them powered up like Frankenstein's monster so when clients seek you out, they can see that you're online and ready to service them however they may need. Create a calendar to keep track of when you'll post and what the content will be. This will not only help you stay on schedule, but will give you a high-level view of what content you've shared so you can fill in any necessary gaps that may emerge—even in the dead of night on All Hallows Eve!
