Fall for El Paso: A Group Getaway Made for the Season

When the temperatures begin to cool and fall arrives in the Southwest, El Paso, Texas comes alive with celebrations of culture, art, tradition, and community. The season kicks into high gear in September with Vivamos México! The Official Grito Celebration, taking place September 12 at the El Paso Convention Center Plaza. October brings even more reasons to plan a visit. On October 3–4, Downtown El Paso transforms into a colorful outdoor gallery for Chalk the Block, the region’s largest public arts festival. The free event welcomes more than 100 local and touring artists and features sidewalk chalk masterpieces, interactive art installations, live performances, music, food vendors, and hands-on activities throughout El Paso’s Downtown Arts District.

Later in the month, groups can experience one of El Paso’s most vibrant cultural traditions during the Día de los Muertos Festival y Desfile on October 24. Downtown’s Arts District becomes a celebration of remembrance, heritage, and community, culminating in a lively parade filled with colorful costumes, larger-than-life figures, and cultural displays.

That same weekend, the skies above El Paso will provide another unforgettable experience. The Amigo Airsho returns October 24–25 at Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss. The 2026 event will feature world-class aviation performances, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team and U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Of course, the festivals are only the beginning of an El Paso group itinerary. Between events, travelers can explore the historic Mission Trail, discover the rugged beauty of Franklin Mountains State Park, stroll through Downtown El Paso or spend time experiencing the city’s museums, shops and cultural attractions.
