Dreaming of sunnier days and the warmth of sunshine on your shoulders? You're far from alone. A new forecast from HomeToGo indicates the U.S. is already seeing a ~30% boost for vacation rental bookings in summer 2021 compared to the previous year. Learn what other key takeaways were found in their summer travel forecast.
HomeToGo took a look at the top search and booking trends for trips planned in summer 2021 and found that travelers are mostly staying stateside: 86% of searches being for domestic travel, with searches for spots on the East Coast seeing the biggest lift. Interestingly, rural reigns over urban (for now), with only 12% of searches being for urban destinations.
For groups looking to get vacation homes while staying aware of their spending, the forecast found 10 destinations that proved to be the most affordable options for the budget-conscious:
- Orlando, Florida
- Upper Peninsula, Michigan
- New York City, New York
- Fort Meyers Beach, Florida
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Sanibel Island, Florida
