This Is How You Harbor

National Harbor, a micro-city on the banks of the Potomac River, recently welcomed the addition of MGM National Harbor Resort & Casino, a luxury resort, retail, dining, entertainment and gaming experience just minutes from Washington, D.C.

MGM National Harbor is the Capital Region's first luxury gaming resort and is designed accordingly: The resort features monumental architecture distinct to the historical region. With 24 stories and 308 rooms, MGM National Harbor houses a 125,000-square-foot casino, signature restaurants and retail space, a theater for top entertainment, luxury spa and salon, a hotel, meeting space and more.

Jon Peterson, principal with Peterson Companies, the developer of National Harbor, notes that National Harbor is on chapter six of a 12-chapter book. The community boats seven hotels, more than 160 retail shops and more than 40 restaurants—but Peterson promises there's more to come.

National Harbor serves a prime location for special events, corporate meetings and conferences. The area offers sweeping river views and myriad waterfront activities, including anything from renting pedal boats to chartering yachts. Groups could soar 180 feet above the Potomac River waterfront on the Capital Wheel, garnering unrivaled views of the National Cathedral, Washington Monument and more.

National Harbor hosts more than 12 million visitors annually and recently launched its own convention and visitors association, Visit National Harbor.
