MountainRail Relaxation!

All aboard ... Next stop: West Virginia!

The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is a scenic tourist railroad located in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern West Virginia, with six different trains that depart from three locations. The railroad's MountainRail portfolio includes the world's largest collection of geared Shay steam locomotives, mountain scenery, and vacation and group packages unlike any other.

The MountainRail Adventure portfolio encompasses more than just daytrips and scenic train rides. The railroad has partnered with local area attractions—including the Franks Family Music Show and their entertainment venue, The Greatest Show on Rails, as well as the Gandy Dancer Theatre of Elkins and the region's best dining options—to assemble a weekend destination for tourists.

"MountainRail Adventures is an exciting and unique destination for groups!" said Matt Scott, group sales manager of the railroad. "Offering the history of the rails with leisurely train excursions and unbeatable mountain scenery, our groups walk away with unforgettable memories and many times return back to visit us on their own! Suitable for groups of any age or size, we guarantee your group trip will be a hit."

In 2017, the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley celebrates its 20th year of running trains. In the past two decades, hundreds of thousands of tourists from all across the United States and world have traveled to the highlands of West Virginia to partake in the region's offerings.

With a group sales staff ready to customize your group getaway, the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad looks forward to helping you plan your next trip to West Virginia!
